A few thoughts...

On this Labor Day, I would like to share a couple of thoughts with you.
Why do they call it Labor Day if nobody works?
What is one of the easiest jobs in the political scene right now? Simple, it's a republican political advisor. All you have to do is disagree with whatever the Obama Administration is trying to do to help the country. It doesn't matter if it is a good idea, something that will help the working poor to feed their kids, or get healthcare for themselves, or helping to get the country moving towards recovery from a disaster worse in some ways than 9-11 and Katrina put together. I'm talking about the previous adminstration of G. Dubya Bush.
Tell me again why, in the words of a certain radio talk show producer, is the President not allowed to speak in schools without permission, yet the military can send recruiters to stalk, yes stalk our children and use scare tactics to get them to enlist in the armed forces. Or in the words of John Fugelsang, Presidents should not speak to school children, unless they are reading My Pet Goat while our nation is under attack. The fevered pitch of the protesters are making it evident even to our youth, that our fight against racisism is far from over. Tell me that if our president was an old white man the scenario would be the same. It would be, "Oh, how nice that the president is getting involved in the young people of our day", rather than "I don't want that socialist pressing his agenda and trying to brain-wash my kid!", when the primary message is to be your best and encourging them to get a good education. People, a word of advice- Stop watching Glen Beck.
I'd like to say to our president: Don't back down on the public option. You need to stand up and make good your promise to give us change that we can believe in. With 76% of our country wanting it, you need to get in there and put on the boxing gloves, and fight for what we, the people, want. What we elected you for. What we expect out of you. Anything less is NOT change that we can believe in. It's just more of the same; democrats being whimps. We have the majority- the perfect storm. This will not happen again, if you don't get tough. The picture above is who we need right now. Don't disappoint us.
Happy Labor Day, America.
